Sharon took her first yoga class as a college student and was terrified at the prospect of being barefoot on a sticky mat in a room full of strangers. Twenty years and a lot of yoga later, she still tries to approach her practice with a beginner’s mind, marveling at what happens when breath is linked with movement. Sharon’s teaching focuses on strength and levity to help students make discoveries on and off their mats.
Sharon has benefited from a long list of teachers and traditions. Mona Michelsen, Ana Forrest, Jim Bennitt, and Vipassana meditation have been most influential. Sharon completed her 200-hour teacher training with Yogaview Chicago, and she continues to seek out ways she can grow as a student and teacher.
